![]() The AVR-8 is a voice remote control system that automatically reports changes detected on any of its eight digital inputs to a remote telephone and/or pager. After speaking a greeting message that may identify the source of the call, the AVR-8 then speaks a unique message for each input change. Each message comes factory programmed, but may easily be re-recorded. After reporting, the AVR-8 allows you to give it commands through your telephone keypad. Functions include telling the AVR-8 to report on the input state of any of the eight digital inputs, commanding the AVR-8 to pulse any one of its four relays turning any one of the relays on or off. When a relay command is given, the AVR-8 speaks the relay 'name' followed by the 'on' or 'off' message. For instance, commanding relay 4 ON causes the AVR-8 to turn the relay on and then report "Relay 4 ... is on." As with the greeting and input messages, the relay 'name', 'on' and 'off'. In addition to initiating a call out when inputs change, the AVR-8 monitors its telephone line to receive a call-in from a remote location. When a call is received, the AVR-8 speaks a greeting message, and is then ready to receive and execute commands to report on its inputs, change to its relay outputs or turn on an audio input to the telephone line. Other features of the AVR-8 are listed below.

![]() The PI9 takes a signal from a standard telephone jack and,via transformer isolation, connects to a pair of RCA jacks, or a stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. The isolation keeps the output signal separate from the telephone line, and will not keep the line open unless the internal jumper is moved. Applications for the PI9 include broadcast, conference rooms, phone training, or wherever a phone conversation needs to be recorded or heard over a PA system. SPECIFICATIONS: Input Impedance: 600 Ohms Output Impedance: 10 K Ohms Ringer Equivalence: 0.0 A, 0.0 B Connections: 2; RJ11 phone jack, 2; RCA jacks 1: Tip-Ring-Sleeve 3.5mm jack Size: 2.7" W x 1.45" H x 2.32" D Weight: 1 lb.
FM "Utility" Processor ![]() The Model 260 is a multifunction stereo audio processor offering AGC, dynamic range compression and split-spectrum peak limiting in a single, easy-to-use package. The three functions comprise a complete audio processing chain, or may be accessed singly as dictated by the application. Developed to satisfy a multitude of basic audio processing requirements, the 260 eliminates the need for the user to adjust any processing parameters. This makes it ideal for TV-aural, educational FM and similar applications that do not demand aggressive processing, yet do require absolute program level control.
NOISE: Better than 75dB below 100%-modulation output level, 10Hz-15kHz DISTORTION:(With full AGC correction and 10dB dynamic reduction); <0.5%THD, 20Hz-15kHz; <0.25%THD, 50Hz-10kHz CROSSTALK:Better than –60dB, 10Hz-10kHz PROGRAM LINE INPUTS (L/R):Active-balanced, bridging; accept program audio levels between –20dBu and +10dBu. PROGRAM LINE OUTPUTS (L/R):Active-balanced, 600-ohm source impedance; deliver 0dBm to +15dBm into 600-ohm loads. GATE CIRCUIT:Gating inhibits AGC ‘hunting’ and compression release during brief pauses in the input program. Extended program loss slowly returns circuit gains to resting values. AGC AMPLIFIER:Slow-AGC erases long-term program level variations for more consistent compression and limiting action. AGC may be independently defeated by grounding a rear-panel terminal. Correction range: ±12dB; correction rate: 0.5dB/sec. DYNAMIC REDUCTION:Compression and limiting share a common split-spectrum gain control circuit. The two functions are separated by a time-domain “floating platform” attack/release characteristic. Compression or total dynamic reduction may be independently defeated by grounding rear-panel terminals. SAFETY CLIPPER:Active only on limiter overshoots that would exceed 100% modulation. Conforms to pre-emphasis characteristic. LEVEL ALARM:Front-panel indicator flashes when AGC correction exceeds ±9dB, or when “dead air” exceeds 10 seconds. SIZE AND SHIPPING WEIGHT: 1- 3/4"H x 19"W x 8"D (1U); 12 lbs.
