Broadcast Tools AVR-8

The AVR-8 is a voice remote control system that automatically reports changes detected on any of its eight digital inputs to a remote telephone and/or pager. After speaking a greeting message that may identify the source of the call, the AVR-8 then speaks a unique message for each input change. Each message comes factory programmed, but may easily be re-recorded. After reporting, the AVR-8 allows you to give it commands through your telephone keypad. Functions include telling the AVR-8 to report on the input state of any of the eight digital inputs, commanding the AVR-8 to pulse any one of its four relays turning any one of the relays on or off. When a relay command is given, the AVR-8 speaks the relay 'name' followed by the 'on' or 'off' message. For instance, commanding relay 4 ON causes the AVR-8 to turn the relay on and then report "Relay 4 ... is on." As with the greeting and input messages, the relay 'name', 'on' and 'off'.
In addition to initiating a call out when inputs change, the AVR-8 monitors its telephone line to receive a call-in from a remote location. When a call is received, the AVR-8 speaks a greeting message, and is then ready to receive and execute commands to report on its inputs, change to its relay outputs or turn on an audio input to the telephone line. Other features of the AVR-8 are listed below.
  • Eight programmable normally open/closed alarm inputs
  • Four SPDT relays, momentary, latching, rising or falling edge
  • Telephone interface with ring detector for auto-answer, transformer isolation, current detector for automatic hang-up CPC compatible and/or a 1 minute hang-up timer in case the AVR-8 is behind a PBX or CPC is not available
  • Balanced output from telephone line or voice chip w/level control
  • 90 second user re-recordable voice chip
  • Stores up to eight, 16-digit numbers (Voice Response) and one 32-digit (pager) phone number per input
  • Programmable voice message repeat counter (The number of times a message is repeated per call)
  • Programmable lap counter (Used to determine how many times all phone #'s assigned to an input to be dialed.)
  • Programmable ring delay (1 - 9)
  • Remote polling to determine input status and relay status
  • Remote security and access codes (1 to 9 digits)
  • Local programming and recording

PI9 Phone Patch II

The PI9 takes a signal from a standard telephone jack and,via transformer isolation, connects to a pair of RCA jacks, or a stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. The isolation keeps the output signal separate from the telephone line, and will not keep the line open unless the internal jumper is moved. Applications for the PI9 include broadcast, conference rooms, phone training, or wherever a phone conversation needs to be recorded or heard over a PA system.

Inovonics Model 260
FM "Utility" Processor

The Model 260 is a multifunction stereo audio processor offering AGC, dynamic range compression and split-spectrum peak limiting in a single, easy-to-use package. The three functions comprise a complete audio processing chain, or may be accessed singly as dictated by the application.

Developed to satisfy a multitude of basic audio processing requirements, the 260 eliminates the need for the user to adjust any processing parameters. This makes it ideal for TV-aural, educational FM and similar applications that do not demand aggressive processing, yet do require absolute program level control.
  • Gated AGC and compression; program-controlled ‘floating platform’ limiter release characteristic.
  • Feedforward pulse-width-modulation (PWM) audio processing for a very smooth sound devoid of processing artifacts.
  • Unique level alarm warns of ‘dead air’ and out-of-limits operation.
FREQUENCY RESPONSE: ±0.5dB, 10Hz-15kHz

NOISE: Better than 75dB below 100%-modulation output level, 10Hz-15kHz

DISTORTION:(With full AGC correction and 10dB dynamic reduction); <0.5%THD, 20Hz-15kHz; <0.25%THD, 50Hz-10kHz

CROSSTALK:Better than –60dB, 10Hz-10kHz

PROGRAM LINE INPUTS (L/R):Active-balanced, bridging; accept program audio levels

between –20dBu and +10dBu.

PROGRAM LINE OUTPUTS (L/R):Active-balanced, 600-ohm source impedance; deliver 0dBm to +15dBm into 600-ohm loads.

GATE CIRCUIT:Gating inhibits AGC ‘hunting’ and compression release during brief pauses in the input program. Extended program loss slowly returns circuit gains to resting values.

AGC AMPLIFIER:Slow-AGC erases long-term program level variations for more consistent compression and limiting action. AGC may be independently defeated by grounding a rear-panel terminal. Correction range: ±12dB; correction rate: 0.5dB/sec.

DYNAMIC REDUCTION:Compression and limiting share a common split-spectrum gain control circuit. The two functions are separated by a time-domain “floating platform” attack/release characteristic. Compression or total dynamic reduction may be independently defeated by grounding rear-panel terminals.

SAFETY CLIPPER:Active only on limiter overshoots that would exceed 100% modulation. Conforms to pre-emphasis characteristic.

LEVEL ALARM:Front-panel indicator flashes when AGC correction exceeds ±9dB, or when “dead air” exceeds 10 seconds.

SIZE AND SHIPPING WEIGHT: 1- 3/4"H x 19"W x 8"D (1U); 12 lbs.

Truth
B2031A

The TRUTH B2031A is the substantially improved successor to Behringers best-selling B2031. It is a high-resolution, active 2-way reference studio monitor with XLR and Ľ" TRS servo balanced inputs that delivers very neutral sound and has an extremely flat frequency response (50 Hz - 21 kHz). It includes built-in 150- and 75-Watt power amps with enormous power reserve plus separately controlled limiters for low and high frequency overload protection.

Tight, deep bass is provided by a long-throw 8 ľ" woofer with a special polypropylene diaphragm, while a ferrofluid-cooled HF driver guarantees clear and detailed highs. The unique BEHRINGER wave guide and the extremely low-distortion active crossover network with 4th order Linkwitz-Riley filters produce an absolutely linear phase response with excellent sound dispersion and stereo imaging together with an extremely large “sweet spot”.

The B2031A is adjustable to a wide range of acoustic conditions or subwoofer combinations and magnetic shielding allows placement near computer/video monitors. All TRUTH monitors are delivered as “matched pairs” with individual response curves.
