shown without front cover MediaRig Encoder SD is a feature-rich, affordably priced MPEG-2 encoder system suitable for a wide-range of cable, satellite and terrestrial applications. Combining dramatic improvements in the Intel platform with Ligos’ own innovative software and hardware design, MediaRig Encoder SD is the compact, reliable alternative that redefines the cost vs. performance tradeoff that service providers have traditionally been forced to address. MediaRig Encoder SD supports standard definition MPEG-2 (MP@ML and 4:2:2P@ML) video, single or dual channels, MPEG Layer 2 and Dolby Digital (AC-3) 2-channel audio, Static PSIP and PSI/SI control tables, closed captioning, and superior quality at lower bitrates (constant and variable). The Intel-powered system is equipped with Ligos’ own Fero media adapter for input and output, and our software for both the user interface (UI) as well as the underlying encoding/processing core. The “tree-node and panel” style UI serves to manage and monitor the local encoding session(s), customize and manage session profiles, and provide optional remote control and management of up to six (6) additional MediaRig Encoder SD systems via Ethernet. Optioned and equipped accordingly, MediaRig Encoder SD can simultaneously encode two independent channels in a single 1RU rack-mounted system. |
