The first question is: where should you apply?
The first advertiser I ever called on gave me some great advice: advertisers spend their money on the top four
advertising outlets in a market. I was in a major market, so I really did not have much of a chance. I moved my operation to a
smaller town about 30 miles away, where I could become the big fish in a smaller pond, and was able to generate sales.
Look for a town that is 30 or more miles outside of a larger city. Find a tower near the
center of town. Look for businesses that have old dispatch towers they no longer use.
We will perform population studies at various power levels to determine where you can save money without losing a
significant number of viewers. Many times, you can reduce your pop count by 10% and cut your equipment costs in half.
We charge $1,049 to perform the engineering study and prepare the application. The FCC filing fee is $910.
The process is first come, first served, so the sooner you apply, the better your chances. If you are the only applicant,
your application is placed on a 30-day public notice period and can then proceed to grant.
